Perum Peruri — the state security printer established in 1971 — handled this note domestically, which by 1987 was well-established practice for Indonesian currency. The print run of just over twelve million is notably modest for a denomination that would have seen active everyday use, suggesting either a supplementary issue or a replacement run rather than a primary production cycle.

The P#124 series is sometimes found with watermark registration issues, a known quality-control inconsistency in Peruri output from this period.
