| Obverse description | Intaglio-printed vignette of Ruminahui, the Inca general, occupies the right side of the note in red-brown tones, his name inscribed beneath. The centre bears the large numeral '1000' over the legend 'MIL SUCRES', with the date and place of issue 'Quito' below, flanked by two serial numbers and series designations set against an intricate guilloche underprint in green and gold.
