Reverse description Royal arms of Spain, featuring the crowned shield flanked by the Pillars of Hercules, the central portion of the design removed by the same crenated circular punch that penetrates the obverse, with approximately 15 scalloped crenations clearly visible around the hole's circumference. The surrounding annular field preserves the mint mark (Mo), assayer initial (F or M), and denomination (8R), along with the peripheral legend ·HISPAN·ET IND·REX· in Latin. A royal crown surmounts the shield above the hole, and the overall composition retains the reeded edge characteristic of the original Mexico City Mint 8 Reales host coin.
