Reverse description The reverse presents a finely detailed bust portrait of Ugedei Khan, second Great Khan of the Mongol Empire, depicted three-quarter facing in high relief, wearing a traditional Mongolian hat and robes with a moustache and beard rendered with careful sculptural precision. A Traditional Mongolian script character appears to the left of the portrait in the mid-field. Ornate floral and scrollwork decorative borders frame the inner field along the periphery. The Latin legend 'UGEDEI KHAN' curves along the lower left, and the regnal dates '1186-1242' appear along the lower right, separated by the portrait. The mintmark 'Mo' of the Mexican Mint is visible in the upper right field.
