| Obverse description | The obverse displays the annular ring of a holed Peruvian 8 Reales (KM#97), struck under Charles IV, bearing the circular legend ·CAROLUS·IIII·DEI·GRATIA· and the date 1805 in the lower field. The remnants of the royal portrait — a draped and laureate bust — are partially visible along the inner edge of the annular field. A rectangular countermark applied by Saint Vincent authorities appears at the top of the coin, punch-stamped with the denomination 'S / XII' within a cartouche, signifying 12 Bits. The reeded outer edge of the original host coin is fully intact. |
