Obverse description Cast bronze flat-foot spade money of the Warring States period, issued by the state of Wei. The body displays the characteristic squared shoulder and hollow-handle form typical of Jin-region spade coinage, with two diverging legs terminating in flat feet at the lower register. A prominent raised vertical rib runs centrally through the body, flanked by diagonal raised lines forming a geometric cross-hatched pattern across the field. The single Chinese character 梁 (Liang), denoting the Wei capital, appears cast in relief within the upper body of the spade, executed in the angular archaic script style of the period.
