Metallwerke Holleischen GmbH was a German munitions and metalworking plant in Holýšov, occupied Czechoslovakia, that operated under SS administration using concentration camp labor — primarily women transferred from Ravensbrück. This lagergeld, denominated in Reichspfennigs, was issued not for any genuine market economy but to create a formal mechanism for compensating forced labor at a rate that was effectively meaningless, satisfying bureaucratic requirements while ensuring nothing of real value could be purchased.
The pink cardboard stock is notably fragile; surviving examples frequently show edge splitting from the material's poor aging characteristics rather than from heavy use.
