Obverse description Bare and heavily worn obverse field, the design now largely obscured by corrosion and surface encrustation characteristic of a long-buried bronze issue. The coin is struck on an irregularly shaped flan typical of Cypriot bronze coinage of the late fifth to early fourth century BC. The type is known to depict the head of Aphrodite, though individual features are no longer discernible on this example. The dark olive-brown patina with scattered malachite deposits attests to significant age and burial. No legend or inscription is visible on this face.
