Obverse description Right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the George IV State Diadem, as modelled by engraver Raphael David Maklouf, whose initials RDM appear on the truncation of the bust. The Queen is depicted with curled hair and a pearl drop earring visible. The legend ELIZABETH II curves along the left periphery, while FIJI and the date appear along the right periphery.

Reverse description A traditional Fijian fan (ibe), woven from pandanus leaf with a bound handle, occupies the centre of the field, rendered in fine detail highlighting the radiating weave pattern. The numeral 2 is prominently displayed over the upper portion of the fan. The legend CENTS curves along the lower portion of the field below the fan motif. The entire design is bordered by a decorative inner rim of small triangular notches.
