| Obverse description | Conjoined busts of Sheikh Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah and Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah facing slightly right, both wearing traditional Arab headdress (keffiyeh and agal), occupying the central field. A circular legend in Arabic runs along the upper rim, reading the commemorative inscription for the 15th Anniversary of the National Day of the State of Kuwait, with the corresponding English legend continuing along the lower rim. The portrait rendering is in high relief, characteristic of the proof striking technique employed by the Royal Mint. |
