| Obverse description | Central field bears the Shahadah (Islamic declaration of faith) enclosed within a pentafoil cartouche, with the mint name Baghdad inscribed above the word 'Muhammad'. The surrounding circular legend contains the date spelled out in full Arabic letters, reading 'the year six hundred and ninety-nine'. The calligraphy is executed in the Naskh style characteristic of Ilkhanid silver coinage of this period. |
