Obverse description The complete Arms of Barbados displayed centrally within the field, featuring a divided shield supported on the dexter side by a dolphin (dorado) and on the sinister side by a pelican, both rendered in fine relief. Above the shield rises a helmet with mantling and a crest comprising two crossed tridents. A scrolled ribbon below the shield bears the national motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY. The commemorative dates 1966 and 1976, flanking the arms on either side, mark the tenth anniversary of Barbadian independence. The legend BARBADOS curves along the lower periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design.
