Obverse description Blue on pale ground. A central vignette of a sailing ship is positioned at upper centre, surrounded by intricate guilloche scrollwork. Black serial numbers, date, and manuscript signatures appear in their respective fields, with the obligation text and issuer title in letterpress across the face.

Reverse description Printed in blue, the reverse is dominated by a central circular vignette enclosing a full-rigged sailing ship under sail, set within an elaborate surround of fine guilloche lacework and engine-turned ornamental scrollwork extending to all four corners. The colonial motto arcs around the circumference of the central medallion.
