Kiribati has no mint of its own and no meaningful numismatic tradition, making its collector issues purely a licensing arrangement — the country's name attached to pieces produced entirely for the novelty market. This one, issued the same year the animated film *Frozen* had fully saturated global merchandising, falls squarely into that category. The black zirconia stones serve as buttons.
