| Reverse description | Central field features the quartered Royal Arms of Castile and León — displaying castles and rampant lions in alternating quarters — surmounted by a royal crown, all within a shield of Spanish colonial style. The mint mark (NR or PN) and assayer's initial appear in the lower exergue, flanking the base of the shield. The circular Latin legend, punctuated by star stops, runs along the full periphery. The overall design is characteristic of the pillar-and-bust coinage transition period of mid-18th century Spanish colonial minting. |
