| Obverse description | The national side depicts a shield bearing a Taurus (aurochs), flanked on both sides by silver oak branches adorned with acorns, the branches joined at their base by a silver ribbon inscribed VIENYBĖ TEŽYDI (UNITY MAY BLOSSOM). The oak branches are symbolic of the region's deep-rooted pagan heritage, while the Taurus references the animal historically most prevalent in the Suvalkija region. The circular legend LIETUVA (LITHUANIA) and the date 2022 appear at the top of the inner disc, with the regional inscription SUVALKIJA and the Lithuanian Mint mark LMK positioned at the bottom. Twelve stars, referencing the flag of the European Union, are evenly distributed around the outer ring. |
