| Reverse description | The denomination is boldly expressed in two scripts across the reverse field: '2 PIASTRES SYRIENNES' in large Latin letters occupies the upper portion, while the large Arabic numeral '٢' and the word 'غرشان' (girushān) dominate the lower and central field respectively. Two five-pointed stars flank the Arabic numeral '٢' in the mid-field. The word 'ESSAI' (trial) appears vertically along the left edge of the coin, identifying the piece as a pattern or trial strike. The reeded rim frames the entire composition. |
