Obverse description Central device comprising a large crowned quartered shield bearing the arms of Sweden, enclosed within a beaded inner circle. The four quarters display the three crowns of Sweden and the lion of the Folkung dynasty in alternating arrangement, surmounted by an ornate royal crown with visible arches and finials. A continuous Latin legend surrounds the shield between the beaded and outer raised rims, reading clockwise from the top.
