Reverse description Central square hole flanked by four Chinese ideograms in the cardinal positions. At the top, the mint mark 营 (Yŏng), identifying the Treasury Department (Hojo) as the issuing authority. At the bottom, the series number 五 (O, meaning 'five'), denoting the fifth series. At the left, the serial number 火 (Hwa, meaning 'fire' or serial number 2 in the traditional heavenly stems sequence), indicating the second denomination or serial within the series. The reverse characters are cast in low relief in regular script style, within raised inner and outer rims.
