Obverse description The obverse is dominated by a central intaglio vignette of a seated allegorical female figure rendered in a classical style, framed by intricate guilloche rosettes on either side bearing the fractional numeral '2½'. The heading 'CASA DE MONEDA DE MEDELLÍN' appears in bold letterpress across the upper portion, with the denomination 'DOS PESOS CINCUENTA CENTAVOS' inscribed along the lower panel alongside the place and date of issue. Three signature lines for El Tesorero, El Secretario de Hacienda, and El Administrador de la Casa de Moneda appear at the foot of the note, with the printer's imprint 'AMERICAN BANK NOTE COMPANY' below.
