The British Antarctic Territory is a genuine UK Overseas Territory administered from London, but its coin program exists almost entirely as a collector vehicle — no penguin has ever tendered one. That said, the BAT does maintain a legitimate philatelic and numismatic bureau, keeping these issues technically valid. The Emperor penguin depicted here is native to the continent the territory nominally governs, which is more geographic honesty than many commemorative programs manage.
