Obverse description The national coat of arms of Botswana occupies the central field, featuring a shield divided into quarters displaying a cogwheel, an elephant tusk, and wavy lines symbolizing water, with a bull's head at the base. Two zebras serve as supporters, rampant on either side of the shield. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto PULA in raised lettering. The legend BOTSWANA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 1994 and the word IPELEGENG inscribed in the lower field below the supporters.

Reverse description A white rhinoceros (Ceratotherium simum) is depicted in left profile, rendered in bold relief with naturalistic detail highlighting the animal's distinctive square lip and prominent anterior horn. The denomination legend 2 PULA arcs along the upper portion of the field above the rhinoceros. The design is set within the heptagonal planchet with a plain inner field, allowing the animal study to dominate the composition.
