Reverse description Central field features the arms of Ecuador: a prominent volcanic mountain (Mount Chimborazo) rising above the sea, with a radiant sun displaying a face in high relief above the summit, and a condor perched on each lateral peak. To the left and right of the central device appear the denomination numerals and initial 2 R respectively. The date 1835 and assayer initials G.J. are inscribed along the lower arc of the circular legend EL PODER EN LA CONSTITUCION, which runs around the upper and lateral periphery.
