Obverse description The Argentine national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting an oval shield divided horizontally, with horizontal lines in the upper half and a pike topped by a Phrygian cap in the lower half, all enclosed within an oval cartouche. The shield is flanked by two laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow, forming a wreath around the device. Above the shield, a radiant sun with a human face emits alternating straight and wavy rays, rising prominently over the arms. The circular Latin legend CONFEDERACION ARGENTINA runs along the periphery, and a small six-petalled rosette appears at the base of the field.
