| Reverse description | The reverse bears the principal countermark of the City of Valdivia, struck directly onto the host coin's field in a crude but legible manner. The denomination '2R' appears at the top of the countermark, with the monogram 'V·A' (standing for Valdivia) centered below, and the last two digits of the date '1822' rendered as 'D22' in the lower portion. The lettering is bold and deeply impressed, consistent with the emergency countermarking practice employed during the early Chilean republican period. |
