| Obverse description | Central field bears the quartered Royal Arms of Castile and León, displaying the castles and lions in alternating quarters, characteristic of the macuquina (cob) coinage of Felipe V. The mint mark and assayer's initial appear flanking the shield, with the denomination mark partially visible. The surrounding circular legend is partially legible on this irregularly shaped flan, typical of hand-struck cob coinage. The die work is executed in the late Habsburg–early Bourbon style as employed at the Mexico City Mint. |
