| Reverse description | The nickel-plated steel centre features a bold high-relief depiction of a conch shell (Charonia tritonis), shown at an angle with fine spiral ribbing rendered in detail, occupying the majority of the inner field. The nickel brass outer ring is adorned with the same traditional Maldivian geometric scroll ornament as the obverse. The Gregorian year '2017' appears in Latin numerals along the lower arc of the ring, flanked on the left by the Hijri year '١٤٣٨' in Eastern Arabic numerals and on the right by the country name in Thaana script 'ދިވެހި ރާއްޖޭ'. |
