| Obverse description | Printed in shades of orange-red and pink on a light underprint, the obverse carries the circular Arms of Ceylon — a lion passant within a decorative wreath — in a vignette to the left of centre. The bank title in Sinhala script appears at top, with the denomination in Sinhala numerals and script at centre-right, flanked by guilloche ornamental panels. The date, serial number, and two signature lines are printed in intaglio below the central vignette, with the English inscription TWO RUPEES at the lower margin alongside Tamil script. |
