| Obverse description | Central field features the fantastical arms of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands: a shield bearing a palm tree, supported on either side by sea-lion supporters, with two crossed flags and a sunburst roundel in chief. Ribbon scrolls at the base of the shield bear the inscriptions ANDAMAN, ISLANDS, and NICOBAR. The peripheral legend ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS arcs across the upper field, while the date 2011 appears in the lower field flanked by two five-pointed stars. |
