| Obverse description | Central device depicts the Bolivian national arms: a tall palm tree flanked by two recumbent llamas on a ground line, all within a semicircular arrangement. The numerals '10' and '20' appear at either side of the base of the palm, indicating fineness or assay references. Nine five-pointed stars arc across the upper field. The circular legend REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA runs along the upper periphery, while the lower exergue bears the mint mark PTS (Potosi), assayer initials F and M, and the date 1852, all separated by pellets. The coin exhibits a reeded border with a fine dentilated inner ring. |
