Soudicy is a local complementary currency (monnaie locale complémentaire, or MLC) issued in the Allier department of Auvergne. These schemes proliferated across France in the 2010s under a cooperative and associative framework, operating outside the formal banking system but fully legal under French monetary law since the 2014 Hamon Law clarified their status. The Allier variant is one of the smaller, less-documented MLCs in the region.
Paper-format MLCs are increasingly being phased out by their issuing associations in favor of digital or card-based systems, making early printed issues from schemes like this one progressively harder to source in unfolded condition.
