| Obverse description | Plain light-coloured note with decorative vine and scroll borders running along all four edges. The central text block certifies that the Commonwealth Government of the Philippines will redeem the certificate at face value upon termination of emergency. The denomination TWENTY CENTAVOS and issuer name MINDANAO EMERGENCY CURRENCY BOARD are set in bold letterpress type at centre, below which appear the printed names of the board members alongside a handwritten signature of the Chairman.
