Obverse description The obverse presents a central vignette of the Iglesia Morava (Moravian Church) at Laguna de Perlas rendered in intaglio on a multicolour guilloche underprint in orange and yellow tones. To the left, a transparent polymer window contains an optically variable ink security disc bearing the numeral 20, alongside a printed motif of two sea turtles — one adult and one juvenile — in natural colouring. Two facsimile signatures of the Presidente del Banco Central de Nicaragua and the Ministro de Hacienda y Crédito Público appear beneath the church vignette.

Reverse description The reverse carries an intaglio vignette of traditional Mayo Ya festival dancers in traditional dress, rendered in deep red on a multicolour guilloche underprint. To the lower left, the national coat of arms of Nicaragua — a triangle enclosing a mountain range with a rising sun — is inscribed within the legend REPÚBLICA DE NICARAGUA and AMÉRICA CENTRAL. A transparent polymer window to the right repeats the sea turtle motif, and an optically variable ink disc at upper left displays the numeral 20.
