| Reverse description | A functional sundial design dominates the reverse, featuring a three-dimensional gold-plated brass gnomon rising diagonally from the centre of the field, attached at its base to an ornate floral motif incorporating a stylised maple blossom. The surrounding field is filled with elaborate acanthus scroll engraving in high relief, rendered with exceptional baroque detailing. Roman numerals VI through XII and I through VI are arranged around the perimeter of the dial face, separated by small lozenge-shaped hour markers, creating a fully legible timepiece composition.
