Obverse description A stylised pumpkin motif inscribed within a raised pentagonal border occupies the central field. Twelve stars are arranged around the periphery in the manner of the standard European coinage series. The curved legend 'BALEARIC ISLANDS' arcs along the upper rim, while the multilingual test inscription 'PROVE PROVA PROBE TEST ESSAI' is inscribed along the lower edge of the pentagon. The date '2004' appears in the lower exergue.
