Reverse description The denomination numeral '20' is rendered in large, bold characters dominating the central field. Flanking the numeral on both sides are symmetrical sprays of wheat ears and stylized foliage, curving upward from the base and framing the central device in a wreath-like arrangement. The composition is clean and uncluttered, with the decorative botanical elements providing an elegant border to the face value. No additional legend or inscription appears on this side.

Additional information

Czechoslovakia's early coinage program was a scramble. The republic declared independence in October 1918 and spent the following years working through competing design proposals and metallurgical decisions before settling on a stable circulating series. This piece is a product of that process — a trial strike for the 20 haléřů denomination, evaluating copper-nickel as a candidate alloy in 1921. The denomination ultimately entered circulation, but in iron, not copper-nickel, a shift driven largely by postwar material economics and the need to conserve harder-to-source alloys for higher denominations.
