| Obverse description | Printed in violet on cream paper, the upper portion of the note is occupied by a photographic-style letterpress vignette of the village of Eschenau, with a church tower rising above surrounding rural buildings set against a hillside landscape. Below the vignette, the issuer name 'Gemeinde Eschenau' appears at left in large Gothic lettering alongside the denomination numeral '20' within an ornate Art Nouveau cartouche and the word 'HELLER' in bold display type.
