| Obverse description | Right-facing effigy of Queen Margrethe II, her hair elaborately styled and dressed upward, rendered in high relief against a smooth field. The circular legend MARGRETHE II flanked by a heart device and DANMARKS DRONNING runs along the upper periphery, with the mint marks R and A and the year 1986 appearing at the lower rim. The word PRØVE (meaning 'pattern' or 'trial') is inscribed in the left field, identifying this as a pattern strike. The portrait is rendered in a refined neoclassical style, characteristic of Danish royal coinage of the period. |
