| Obverse description | Central field depicts the waving flag of the Avar Khaganate rendered in colour, bearing a black silhouette of a mounted warrior on horseback in full gallop. The flag is shown with a naturalistic ripple effect against the mirrored proof field. Surrounding the central motif, a border of thirteen five-pointed stars and a crescent-and-star symbol encircle the design.
