Obverse description Intaglio portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in three-quarter view occupies the right portion of the note, set against fine guilloche underprint in pastel tones. To the left, the Gibraltar coat of arms — a red castle above a gold key on a white shield — is accompanied by a vignette of the Rock of Gibraltar with a cannon in the foreground and a Barbary macaque eagle in flight at centre. The date '4TH AUGUST 2004' appears at lower left, with denomination numerals '£20' rendered in multicolour at upper right and lower left, and a holographic security patch at right.
