Pakistan Security Printing Corporation has handled rupee production since the 1960s, giving the State Bank an unusual degree of domestic control over its currency supply — a priority that became politically significant during periods of strained relations with Western suppliers. The P#55 series ran across an exceptionally long window, which means signature varieties proliferate and several governors' tenures are documented through this single denomination alone.

The 2010 replacement note, identified by the X prefix, is cataloged without an attributed signatory — an uncommon gap for a note this recent.
