| Obverse description | The fantasy coat of arms of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands occupies the brass centre, featuring a shield charged with a palm tree, supported on either side by sea-lion figures, and surmounted by two crossed flagpoles bearing furled banners, with a sun-and-wheel roundel above. A scroll beneath the shield bears the legend ANDAMAN NICOBAR ISLANDS. The outer copper ring carries the circular legend ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS along the upper arc, with a ring of six-pointed stars along the lower arc, and the date 2011 prominently displayed at the base. |
