| Reverse description | The reverse depicts the Bodhisattva Ākāśagarbha (Xukong Zang Pusa), patron deity of those born in the Year of the Horse, rendered in high relief in a formal seated posture. In his raised right hand he holds a flaming sword symbolising wisdom, while his left hand cradles a lotus blossom. The figure is rendered in fine detail consistent with Buddhist iconographic tradition. The Chinese characters 虚空藏菩萨 appear alongside the romanised name ĀKĀŚAGARBHA in the legend field. |
