Obverse description The Peruvian national coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a quartered shield bearing a vicuña in the upper left, a cinchona tree in the upper right, and a cornucopia in the base, all enclosed within a wreath of palm and laurel branches tied at the base. The circular legend BANCO CENTRAL DE RESERVA DEL PERU arcs around the upper periphery, while the denomination VEINTE SOLES DE ORO is inscribed in two lines across the lower field. The engraver's signature appears in the lower left field. The rim is bordered by a continuous beaded inner border.
