Reverse description The reverse carries a dual-scene composition: soldiers set against the ruined interior of the Church of the Holy Cross on one side, and a field mass celebrated in the courtyard at 12 Poznańska Street on the other. A two-colour graphic element on the right margin renders stylised brick ruins as an artistic border motif. The lower margin bears a quotation inscription in Polish alongside the engraver's and printer's credits.

Issued to mark the 80th anniversary of the Warsaw Uprising of August 1944, this commemorative note is one in a long tradition of NBP collector issues that use the banknote format as a medium for historical commemoration rather than everyday exchange. The Uprising itself lasted 63 days and ended in the near-total destruction of the city — an outcome the communist government that followed spent decades actively suppressing in public memory.

Engraved by P. Krajewski at PWPW, the same Warsaw facility that has been producing Polish security documents since 1919.
