| Obverse description | At upper left, the crowned Norwegian coat of arms featuring a rampant lion on a shield surmounted by a royal crown, rendered in high relief against a mirror field. To the right of the arms, a large stylised eight-pointed compass rose or wind rose occupies the majority of the field, its elongated points extending to the coin's edges.
