The "Famous Men and Women" series, launched in 1997, was Danmarks Nationalbank's first major redesign in decades and introduced a deliberate thematic program celebrating Danish cultural figures rather than monarchs or allegorical imagery. The 200-krone note is the second denomination in the series to receive enhanced security upgrades, which accounts for the Type 2 classification and the relatively compressed production window between 2003 and 2008.

The sheer number of signature combinations — at least twelve across six years — reflects routine personnel rotation at governor and director level, but the mid-series shift from Heering to Sørensen in the counter-signatory position marks the 2007 dates as transitional. Some prefix-specific combinations exist for only a single year, making certain signature pairings considerably scarcer than the aggregate print run of just over twelve million suggests.
