Obverse description Printed in shades of gray and blue, the obverse bears an intaglio portrait vignette of Dámaso Antonio Larrañaga at center, surrounded by fine guilloche underprint with a central allegorical vignette that registers with the reverse. A metallic-like security band at right carries a latent image of the national coat of arms and denomination value, with an outline map of Uruguay incorporating a latent 'BCU' device; raised tactile horizontal bars for the visually impaired appear at both lateral margins. Dual serial numbers are printed in contrasting orientations: a vertical red series at upper left and a horizontal dark green growing series at lower right, with partial complementary numerals at upper left registering with the reverse.
