| Obverse description | The Ugandan coat of arms occupies the central field, depicting a traditional Kiganda shield flanked by a Uganda kob (antelope) to the left and a grey crowned crane to the right, both rendered in high relief against a mirror-polished background. Two crossed spears appear behind the shield, and a decorative scroll below bears the national motto in the legend FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY. The issuer's legend BANK OF UGANDA arcs along the upper periphery, with the date 1993 split across the left and right fields flanking the arms. The denomination 2000 SHILLINGS is inscribed in large letters along the lower periphery, and the coin is bordered by a fine beaded inner rim. |
