Mongolia's high-denomination bullion and collector gold issues of this period were largely produced under contract by foreign mints — the Bank of Mongolia has no domestic gold striking facility capable of fine coinage production. The 25,000 tögrög face value is nominal against gold spot, a bookkeeping convention required by Mongolian law to classify the piece as legal tender rather than a commodity.
